MONTGOMERY — Tour the Pergamena Parchments and Leathers Tannery in Montgomery, NY to explore the old time animal hide tanning process with the Time and the Valleys Museum on Saturday, July 29th at 2 p.m. Jesse Meyer, owner of Pergamena Parchments and Leathers (who comes from a family that has been tanning leather since 1550!) will guide the group through his tannery. The tannery produces vegetable tanned leather and is one of a small number of producers of animal skin parchment around the world. They employ traditional processes while adapting to modern applications and aesthetics. 

The program is free for Museum members and $5 for non-members. The group will meet at the location. Tour is limited to 20 people and you must register to be included. Please email info@timeandthevalleysmuseum.org or call 985-7700 to register. Registration ends on Friday, July 28th.
