ROCHESTER – Tri-Valley athletes bring home some serious hardware at the NY State track and field championships! Led by Kane “The Prodigy” Poje who won the Class C and Federation Championship for shot put with a throw of 62’7”. The longest throw by a NY athlete this year. Poje continues his dominance in shot put by winning both the NY State Indoor and Outdoor Federation Championships in the same year. This was last accomplished in 2024 by Peter Northrup from Penfield. Poje will compete in shot put and the hammer throw at the New Balance Nationals this weekend in Philadelphia.

Furman also placed runner up in the Class C 3000 meter run, placing her 5th overall in all of NY state. Furman will join Poje this weekend at the New Balance Nationals where she finished 6th last year to secure her All-American status in the 2000 meter steeplechase.

Sophia Richardson, Tri-Valley’s best ever girl sprinter overcame a year of battling injuries to represent the Bears in the 400 meter to cap a historic career. She will be competing for Providence next year.
Seniors Logan Weyant and Savannah Chaboty capped stellar careers by competing in the 110 meter hurdles and triple jump at the state meet. They both have been major contributors throughout their careers.
Santino Haffner had his first taste of the NY State outdoor track and field championships. He was one of two underclassmen in the whole pole vault competition, with Haffner being the only Freshman to make it to states.
