WEST POINT- The Tri-Valley Boys Indoor Track & Field Team made history late Friday night, securing the Section 9 Class B Championship for the third time in school history. The Bears previously claimed the title in 2019 and 2023, and their latest victory in 2025 solidifies their excellence this season. For the running sports, Tri-Valley Boys also won the Section Class D Championships in Cross Country and will be looking to earn the "triple crown" of winning sectional titles in Cross Country, Indoor Track & Field, and Outdoor Track & Field.

The Tri-Valley Girls team also had an outstanding showing, placing fourth overall out of 23 schools. They fought fiercely for the title until the final events and are poised to return stronger next season, ready to contend for the championship.

Several Tri-Valley athletes delivered standout individual performances, earning top podium finishes. Among the medalists were:

  • Van Furman – Gold in the 1000m, 1600m, and 3200m

  • Kane Poje – Gold in the Weight Throw and Shot Put

  • Anna Furman – Bronze in the 1000m, Silver in the 1500m and 3000m

  • Sophia Richardson – Silver in the 300m

  • Logan Weyant – Bronze in the Pole Vault

  • Boys 4x800m Relay – Bronze (Nick Bender, Aaron Edwards, John Woods Jr., Wyatt Morton)

Van Furman was the MVP for track events, winning all three of his races in the 1000m, 1600m, and 3200m. He looked smooth and collected throughout, demonstrating his dominance on the track. Meanwhile, Kane Poje was the field MVP, winning both the shot put (by over five feet) and the weight throw (by over 20 feet). Both athletes will make waves at the state championships.

With the Section 9 title in hand, the Bears now set their sights on the next challenge: the State Qualifier meet on March 1st. The team remains focused and determined to build on their success and continue their impressive season.

Congratulations to all the Tri-Valley athletes on their hard work and dedication! Go Bears!
