Tri-Valley racing through Cross Country season

GRAHAMSVILLE — Tri-Valley and their defending State Champion Boys Cross Country team have been busy this season. From trips to Wappingers Falls to Vernon-Verona-Sherill (the site of this year’s Federation and NYSPHSAA Championship races respectfully), the boys and girls have been running all over.

At the Grout Cross Country Invitational in Schenectady, the Tri-Valley girls finished in 3rd overall, behind Mount Academy and Voorheesville.

Anna Furman finished in first place (16:15.9 the fastest time of the day). Behind her, Amelia Mickelson (5th 17:54.9), Em Richardson (14th 18:55.6), Brynn Poley (38th 20:11.7), Lily Siciliano (56th 21:50.2), Delanie Hoffman (58th 22:10.8) and Chrissy Wachter (60th 22:17.1).

At the same invitational, Van Furman finished with the fastest time of the day for the boys with 13:49.6. Craig Costa (4th 14:29.9), Wyatt Morton (48th 17:21.5) and John Woods (55th 17:51.3) all put in respectable times.

So far this season, Van Furman is ranked number one among Class D boys and ranked number seven overall regardless of Class in New York.

Anna Furman is the top ranked girl in Class D and ranked 11 overall in New York.

Both the boys and girls team are currently ranked number five in the state among all Class D teams, and will be headed to the Manhattan College Cross Country Invitational tomorrow to compete at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.
