Tri-Valley runners continue to break records

GRAHAMSVILLE –– Three Tri-Valley track athletes competed in an elite, invitational only, 5k track race, Van Furman, Anna Furman, and Ally Chevalier. Van finished in 4th place with a personal best time and set a new school record of 14:34, the #3 track 5k time in NYS history!

Anna finished the race in first place with a time of 17:05,  the third fastest sophomore time in NYS history. 

Chevalier has never raced a 5k and does not run cross country, but ran a debut 5k in a time of 18:40, finishing in the top 10.

Last weekend at the Iron Dukes Relays in Marlboro, Sophia Richardson broke two long-standing Tri-Valley school records that had been in place for over 30 years. She achieved a jump of 32 feet 9 inches in the triple jumppassing the previous record set in 1995. Additionally, she ran the 400 meters in 58.06 seconds, breaking the school record set back in 1998.

On Saturday, May 3 Tri-Valley will host the 30th Annual Tri-Valley Invitational. All throwing events will be offered at this meet including hammer, javelin, discus and shot put. And for the first time TV will be hosting an elite 1 mile race for top runners Each runner needs to have a qualifying time of sub-4:32 for male runners in the 1600 meter, and female runners must run a sub -4:55 in the 1500 meter to compete.
