To the editor:

What are we to make of the recent action by the U.S. Senate? I’m referring to the action where the Senate voted to give a free pass and drop the House of Representative impeachment charges against Secretary Mayorkas.

Which party failed to follow the Constitutional process and do its duty to properly discharge the impeachment charges through a proper trial? Is there something to be hidden by those who voted against the trial? This would be the concern of many who would like to see the facts weighed, particularly those who are troubled by the drug and sex trafficking crossing the southern border.

Furthermore, here in New York, there is concern because Senator Gillibrand, who is up for re-election, voted to disregard her Constitutional requirements. Should we not be concerned that Senator Gillibrand and the others took an oath to uphold the Constitution but they have thrown that oath to the curb? Why didn’t they do their duty? Why didn’t Senator Gillibrand and the Senate do what is right? What is being hidden from the public? Senator Gillibrand should not remain in office. This November, vote for Mike Sapraicone for U.S. Senate.
