HONESDALE, PA —  Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) are proud to recognize its staff of dental assistants and Expanded Function Dental Assistants (EFDAs).  March 5 -11, 2023, has been slated as the 46th annual Dental Assistants Recognition Week by the American Dental Assistants Association. The observance salutes these front-line professionals whose skills and training make dental visits productive, safe and as pleasant as possible.

WMCHC offers dental services at offices in two locations -- Together For Health Dental Center, Honesdale and Pike Dental Center, Lords Valley.  The 12 dental assistants employed between both sites perform diverse responsibilities ranging from working chairside with the dentist to taking x-rays to infection control and sterilization. Those trained as EFDAs can also perform tasks such as filling teeth and applying sealants and fluoride treatments.

“Dental assistants are vital to the success of our dental practices,” stated Nichole Yannone, dental office manager, WMCHC. “This week is a time to thank them for the significant impact they make to our patients and the dental health of the general public.”

WMCHC dental offices accept most insurances and offer a sliding fee scale based on income. For an appointment, call 570-251-6534 to be seen in Honesdale or 570-775-7818 for Lords Valley. Visit www.wmchc.net for more information.
