Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties hosts awards dinner

CHESTER — The Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties (“WBAOSC”) recently hosted its annual Awards Dinner at Palacio Catering & Conference Center in Chester. Every year, the Chapter recognizes members who have made significant contributions to the chapter, their community and/or the profession. 

The Outstanding New Attorney award is presented to a member who has been practicing for less than ten years and has made noteworthy contributions to the Chapter, along with outstanding achievements in the profession and/or to the community.  The Outstanding New Attorney award was presented to Cynthia Hand, Esq. by Kelly Pressler, Esq., Immediate Past President of the Chapter. 

The Public Interest Member award is presented to a member for outstanding legal services and/or community supportive efforts in the public service. The Public Interest Award was presented to Sullivan County District Attorney Meagan Galligan, the first woman elected to that position in Orange or Sullivan Counties, by Hannah Prall, Esq.

The Distinguished Attorney Award is presented to an outstanding member who has achieved professional excellence and distinguished herself or himself by service to the community. The Distinguished Attorney Award was presented to the Honorable Hyun Chin Kim, the first woman elected to the County Court bench in Orange County, by the Honorable Joanne M. Forbes, City of Newburgh Court Judge.
