Woodridge talks overnight parking

WOODRIDGE — The Woodridge Village Board discussed the possibility of adding a new law prohibiting overnight parking during the winter, at Monday’s meeting.

Mayor Joan Collins and the village trustees discussed the benefits and downsides to potentially adding the new law.

A trustee explained the major benefit would be that the street department in Woodridge would have an easier time plowing the roads since there would be significantly less vehicles in their path, but on the contrary is that some residents may not have parking where they live.

The Board has yet to make a decision on the matter and is keeping all residents in mind.

“I’m trying to come up with something to accommodate our residents,” Mayor Collins explained.

A Woodridge committee consisting of Mayor Collins, Trustee Louis Saperstein and Chief Vello are entrusted to create a solution to this problem which would be addressed at a later date.

“The committee will get together and bring back a proposal,” Mayor Collins said.
