LIBERTY -- The Liberty High School Interact Club's Comfort Closet will soon be open. The Closet will provide new personal hygiene items free of cost to district students who need it.

Items available include shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, socks, mouthwash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, deodorant, hair gel, bar soap, feminine pads, hairbrushes, hair ties, lotion, tampons, body wash, face wash, Q-Tips, face masks, combs, flushable wipes, sanitizer, small-XXXL underwear, laundromat vouchers, laundry soap and dryer sheets.

Students in need of supplies will be able to fill out a request form.

Comfort Closet items were purchased from monies the club collected through donations, grants and fundraisers.

Club members, with the help of Liberty High School Business Teacher and Interact Club Advisor Dan Hart, have fully stocked the Comfort Closet, but could use help replenishing it. Donations of the aforementioned items would be greatly appreciated.

While managing the closet, the Liberty HS Interact Club is also embarking on another project. They are collecting recyclable plastic which they will send to TREX, a company that creates eco-friendly outdoor products made from recycled plastic products. TREX will then turn that plastic into a bench which will either be placed on school grounds or somewhere in the Liberty community.

So if you have recyclable plastic available contact the club.

For more information on the club's Comfort Closet and recycling project, contact Dan Hart at dhart@libertyk12.org.
