Arrests made in shooting incident

SULLIVAN COUNTY — On August 13, the New York State Police in Liberty, with the assistance of the Village of Monticello Police Department and the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office, announced the arrests of 20-year Tahleek Clark, and a 15-year-old juvenile, both of Monticello, for Possession of a Weapon in the second degree, Criminal Use of a Weapon first degree, Assault first degree and Reckless Endangerment first degree. Additionally, a 14-year-old juvenile from Monticello was charged with Assault in the first degree.

These charges stem from a shooting incident that occurred on Liberty Street in the early morning hours of August 9. According to state Police, the incident occurred 2:10 a.m. at the intersection of Liberty St and Cottage St in the area of John Crawford Senior Housing. Multiple shots were fired and at least one person was injured.

Clark was arraigned at the Town of Thompson Court in front of Honorable Judge Miller and remanded to Sullivan County Jail. The juveniles were arraigned at the Sullivan County Family Court in front of the Honorable Judge Meddaugh.
