B.A.S.S. 100 best bass lakes!

Posted

The Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) has announced what they consider the 100 best bass fishing waters in the country.

The St. Lawrence River in New York is ranked as the No. 1 best bass fishery. In 2020, during an Elite Series Bass Tournament on the St. Lawrence River in the 1000 Islands region, the winning angler caught a total of 97.5 pounds of bass and a huge 7 lb.13 oz. smallmouth bass was caught.

The top five bass waters included: 1. St. Lawrence River, New York, 2. O.H. Ivie Lake, Texas, 3. Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, California, 4. Lake St. Clair, Michigan and 5. Kenansville Lake, Florida.

Also mentioned in the Northeast waters were Lake Champlain, Cayuga Lake, Oneida Lake and Chautauqua Lake.

B.A.S.S. has recently announced the 2023 Elite Series tournament schedule, and it will end with back-to-back tournaments in the state of New York. This procedure has been on the schedule for the past several years, and in 2023 it will be an important stretch run for the season.

The 2023 schedule will have a slightly different start in February. After starting the season the past four years on the St. John’s River, Florida, the 2023 schedule will open on world-famous Lake Okeechobee, Florida.

From Florida, the bass pros will fish just a little to the North on a lake that was once a familiar stop on the Bassmaster Tournament Trail, Lake Seminole in Georgia.

Then the schedule will include several states including:  Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas, Alabama and Michigan before heading for the final two in New York.

Vice President of Tournaments for B.A.S.S. Chris Bowes said, “I can honestly think of no better place to cap off the Elite Series season than on maybe the best smallmouth fishery on the planet (NY).”

More than 12.5 million viewers watched Bassmaster coverage on the FOX networks and once again fans can catch all Bassmaster Elite Series events on the FOX Sports channel.

The 2023 Bassmaster Elite Series schedule include: 1. Lake Okeechobee, Florida, 2. Lake Seminole, Georgia, 3. Tennessee River, Tennessee, 4. Lake Murray, South Carolina, 5. Santee Cooper, South Carolina, 6. Lay Lake, Alabama, 7. Sabine River, Texas, 8. Lake St. Clair, Michigan, 9. Lake Champlain, New York and 10. St. Lawrence River, New York.
