Bistro opens doors for ‘re-beginning’

JEFFERSONVILLE — Please welcome Lorenzo’s Bistro’s return to the neighborhood, as Jeffersonville is seeing a familiar face added back into their restaurant lineup following the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association (SCVA) and the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce’s (SCCC) ribbon-cutting celebration for the bistro on April 1.

The restaurant, located at 5004 NY-52, formerly Sal’s Pizzeria, is owned by the former Head Chef of the Roscoe Mountain Club, David Lorenzo.

Isabel Braverman from the SCVA congratulated Lorenzo.

“We’re so happy that you’re back here in Jeffersonville,” Braverman said. “We know that you were here in 2019 to 2020 and [are] now re-opening here in this new location.”

Braverman also noted that day was Lorenzo’s first day in business.

Lorenzo thanked her and the SCVA for coming and stated he really appreciated it.

Jaime Schmeiser from the SCCC also welcomed Lorenzo back to the area with open arms. She presented him with a certificate on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and told Lorenzo “welcome home, welcome back and congratulations!”

Lorenzo said he considers this opening a “re-beginning” for his family since their initial start before Covid-19 spread.

“All our dreams are riding on this,” said Lorenzo. “I have my family here, it’s a family business. We’re going to try and work together.”

Lorenzo also noted that the community was very supportive of his coming to the area, of which he considers the importance of a lot of options for eateries.

Referring to the amount of support he got for his announcement of opening in Jeffersonville, Lorenzo says he reportedly got roughly seventeen-thousand-and-eight viewings on the post.

“We really feel it in our heart, you know, the love [that people have for our presence.]”
