Recently a few basketball experts and afficionados were speaking about the annual Maurice Stokes basketball game and adjoining golf outing. 

The discussion centered on the enjoyment of this classic event as well as the opportunity provided to participants.

Question raised was why not bring it back. There is a receptive audience, a venue at SCCC, and an opportunity for players for NBA G League and foreign teams to participate. 

Question also becomes as to how to organize such an event. There are new members of the Legislature, many successful business entities and individuals.

This newspaper could take the leading role in bringing interested parties to discuss this possibility further.
