Catskill Cuisine Celebrates its Second Year with a Food Festival Extravaganza

Posted

Spring is here and we are gearing up for the second annual Catskill Cuisine food festival at Bethel Woods. This event, sponsored by elite partner Labelle Farms and presented by Resorts World Catskills and Bethel Woods, celebrates the unique flavors and community spirit of the Sullivan Catskills. And this year, it’s been expanded to a three-day weekend extravaganza, held on Mother’s Day weekend! So invite your mom and get your tickets now before it sells out.

The festival is more than just an event; it’s a showcase of the region’s best. Local farmers, artisans, and chefs converge on the iconic Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, turning it into a bustling hub of tastes, aromas, and colors. Visitors can wander through the grounds taking in cooking demos, tastings, live music, family-friendly activities, and the chance to meet Food Network stars.

Participating chefs include Scott Conant, Geoffrey Zakarian, Marcus Samuelsson, Anne Burrell, Michael Symon, Andrew Zimmern, Melba Wilson, and international celebrity chefs by Labelle Farms: Mathew Cooper, Priscilla Fincher, Shay Lavi, Claudia V. Martinez, Daniel Bustamante, Max Solo, Yusuke Kogure, Benito Molina and Solange Muris.

Music, another integral part of the Catskill heritage thanks to Woodstock, plays a continuous backdrop to the culinary activities. Live bands and solo artists, many of whom hail from the Catskills or nearby regions, provide the soundtrack to the festival, with sounds ranging from folk and blues to indie and rock. This musical ambiance enhances the festival’s festive feel, creating a lively yet relaxed environment perfect for a family outing or a day trip with friends.

There are even more opportunities to experience Catskill Cuisine, beginning on Friday, May 10 with a celebrity and chef golf invitational on the Monster Golf Course at Resorts World Catskills. Play the historic course with celebrity chefs to support A Single Bite, a Sullivan Catskills non-profit organization that is educating and feeding hungry neighbors with real and healthy local food.

On Saturday night, enjoy a private, multi-course dining experience hosted by Celebrity Chefs Scott Conant and Marcus Samuelsson. This is a communal-style seated dinner experience to spark conversation and new friendships, with the food served family-style. A VIP Meet & Greet will be held before the dinner.

And on Sunday, celebrate Mother’s Day with a brunch hosted by celebrity chefs Anne Burrell and Melba Wilson in the Event Gallery at Bethel Woods. Set against a beautiful backdrop you can savor an exclusive menu crafted with delectable flavors and, of course, a mimosa or bloody mary.

Beyond the food and fun, Catskill Cuisine serves as a vital economic driver for the local community. It attracts thousands of visitors from across New York State and beyond, turning a spotlight on the small businesses and farms that are the backbone of our region. Each ticket sold and each dish enjoyed helps sustain the local economy, making the festival a cherished event in the community calendar.

As the Catskill Cuisine Food Festival continues to grow each year, it remains a testament to the region’s rich culinary heritage and its ongoing commitment to the local community. For anyone looking to taste the true flavor of the Catskills, a visit to this festival at Bethel Woods is an absolute must.
