Does Trump deserve to be President?

To the editor:

Several years ago, when Donald Trump was running his early campaign for the highest office in the land, he was recorded on tape making fun of and mocking a handicapped reporter.

He did this with stupid and humiliating gestures that were uncomfortable to watch, especially from an ‘adult’..much less a political candidate.

Subsequently this incident was  broadcast on TV news for the entire country to see.  One would have thought at the time that that would have ended it for DJT.

But – there was something brewing even then in our national, collective personality, that allowed that behavior from a candidate at that level.

Since that time, of course, as both as president and ex-president, he has built an arsenal of belittling, name-calling and insulting moments which his supporters ignore and his opponents couldn’t match even if they dared.

Just a day or so ago, Donald Trump, while drumming up votes in Iowa, got off on medical care, Obama Care and how terrible it is for our country.  Then he mentioned the vote that took place to pass it and made fun of John McCain (with a humiliating gesture). Making fun of him not being able to raise his arm ‘to vote no’.

John McCain, war hero, prisoner of war, maimed for life (for his countrymen- including the fool who made fun of him!).

If readers who are aware of this most recent incident are not at the very least embarrassed, and hopefully are incensed by this latest personal low exhibited by Donald Trump, then do some self-checking and see just how much you have been politically, privately and morally anesthetized for five years (!) by this person who wants, once again, to be your leader.
