WOODRIDGE –– The Village of Woodridge is the recipient of a $5 million NYS Department of Health grant and $3.8 million no interest loan for the expansion, upgrades and improvements of the Village water system, Mayor Joan Collins reports.

They also received a matching grant of $50,000 from the Environmental Facilities Corporation for the study of inflow and infiltration issues of the Village wastewater treatment system.

This comes a few months after they received a USDA Rural Development grant of $4,436,500 and $2,963,000 low interest loan to assist with the update and expansion of the Village water plant.

In addition to the most recent grants being discussed at last week’s meeting, the Village Board also approved Woodridge’s participation in the Borscht Belt Historical Marker Project, spearheaded by Marisa Scheinfeld and Sullivan County Historian John Conway.
