Hank Schneider, photographer and woodworker, died unexpectedly on April 16, 2020 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA.

A retired commercial still-life photographer from NYC, he was well-known for his art photography and his creative woodworking, especially his unique waterproof wooden vases, using a technique he perfected over the course of some 20 years. Many will remember his posters for the DVAA Riverfest auction - he was the only artist who donated a poster every year that the auction has been held.

He was the beloved companion, for 19 years, of Elizabeth (“Buff”) McAllister, and is also survived by a brother and sister.

Hank was a truly genuine person - sincere, thoughtful, down-to-earth, kind, loving, humorous, and enthusiastic in his art and other projects. He loved motorcycles, having ridden since he was old enough to get a license. During the warm months, he used them for transportation almost exclusively, alternating among the four he owned. He also enjoyed fishing in his much-loved Delaware River, stocking his freezer with walleyes.

There will be a memorial gathering when the Coronavirus is under more control, perhaps late summer.
