Holiday Mountain to be reborn

To the editor:

Mike Taylor is a hometown hero for me. His purchasing of Holiday Mountain and investment in its renewal insures that the ski slope will serve this community for many years. Young people in Sullivan County are often at a loss for healthful, soul and body nurturing activities.  A favorite Bowling Alley of my children and grandchildren has recently been downgraded to a supermarket. There are no Community Centers with indoor swimming pools and basketball courts such as I grew up using in my youth in Rhode Island.  It would be another godsend if someone would convert the Duggan School into a youth center. When I suggest it, I am told, the community cannot afford it.  Young people in the area often resort to gathering in local malls or one another’s houses for entertainment. The Ski slope has been one of the best winter day and night activities that sustains our youth population. So thank you Mike Taylor. I hope your new venture is profitable, but the value that you will be adding to this entire county cannot be counted in dollars and cents.  You are truly a savior and a saint.
