Jed Dunnigan, age 64, passed away on November 1, 2022.

“If you wanna make God laugh, tell him your plans.” - Jed

This certainly wasn’t Jed’s plan, as his life came to a sudden ending in the bottom of the 8th inning while watching the World Series with friends and family on vacation in Florida. He recently relocated from Pennsylvania to Florida with his wife, Gabrielle, to enjoy the retired life and spend more time in the sun with friends and family.

Jed’s early days began in Youngsville, NY, born to Anna and John Dunnigan and his older brother, John Dunnigan, on October 20, 1958.

He graduated from Jeff-Youngsville Central School and then attended SUNY Canton where he earned an associate degree. After school he moved to the Midwest where he worked for a lumber company as a foreman before settling back down in the Youngsville area.

Jed worked many years among some of his closest friends at Woodbourne Correctional Facility working his way up to the rank of Sergeant until his retirement. During this time he was an active golfer playing in the Correctional League and also enjoyed hunting with his closest friends and family. Jed was a member of the Craig-E-Clair hunting camp as well as a member of the Youngsville Fire Dept.

He found love and a family while attending one of his co-worker’s parties, who would soon become his brother-in-law. He married Gabrielle Porcaro and stepped in as a father to Michael and Natalie O’Reilly, forever loving them as his own.

He loved “chillin” on the couch with his family and friends and his “furry” grand kids, he will be missed by many and remembered for his kind heart and witty sense of humor.

He leaves behind Gabrielle and his children, son Michael and his wife Stephanie, daughter Natalie and significant other Kelly, a brother John and his wife Jill and their children Jessica, Michael and his wife Rachel. These are just a few of the many hearts he touched.

Jed was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Dunnigan-LeRoy, stepfather Stanley LeRoy and father, John Dunnigan.

RIP forever, a husband, a father, a brother, an uncle, a friend, Jed.
