So excited to announce that “Sullivan Sundries” (located at 4890 NY-52, Jeffersonville) is open for business Thursday thru Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Less than a month until the 143rd Grahamsville Little World’s Fair – August 18th to 20th. On Sunday at 1 p.m. the Sullivan County 4-H Livestock and Ag Products Auction will be held. Preview starts at noon with auction bidding at 1 p.m. Many of the club members will have items for sale from their 4-H project work. Please join them, appreciate their hard work and bid. All proceeds raised are split between the youth and the 4-H Auction Scholarship Fund. Please support our local 4-H clubs.

The JEMS beautification group is having another musical happening, “Under the Stars” at the Backyard Park (located at 876 Swiss Hill Road N., Jeffersonville) on Saturday, August 26th featuring BJ Hendrickson and a new group to their stage, The Bones Krew! BJ is a singer and acoustic performance artist that specializes in playing the songs you know and the songs that you will want to sing along with. BJ performs at many breweries, distilleries, cideries, and restaurants throughout the Sullivan, Orange, and Delaware Counties. BJ is from Sullivan County and resides in Roscoe, NY.  Bones Krew is a semi-acoustic trio based out of Orange/Sullivan County, featuring Howie Bloom on guitar, J Harrison on Bass and vocals, and Lynn Reno on fiddle and vocals. They have played recently at the Farmers’ Market at the Jeff Bake Shop in Jeffersonville. They play an eclectic mix of Americana, Blues, Country and Rock. They deliver great musicianship and a fun show! Gates open at 6 p.m. Music starts at 7 p.m. Refreshments available to purchase from Oakie Pokie Hot Dogs and Rianne will be there from Ri’s Farm Made Ice Cream at Myers Century Farm too! Our Western Sullivan Public Library is having their Annual Firehouse Book Sale on August 10th, 11th, & 12th at the Jeffersonville Firehouse, from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Gently used books starting at $0.25. Bag day is Saturday: $2.00 per bag. They are seeking volunteers for set up, throughout the book sale, and for cleanup. Signup sheet is available at the Jeffersonville branch; please stop by and see available times or call them at (845)482-4350 during library hours to sign up!

Sullivan West Central School District is inviting incoming 9th grade students and families to a welcome BBQ on August 30th at 6:30 p.m. next to the High School Athletic Field. Come meet high school Principal Mr. Plescia, 9th grade teachers and guidance counselors. Club and sport sign-ups, as well as locker and schedule information will be available.
