The JEMS group is looking for people to participate at the Jeff Jamboree on Saturday, September 16th in their “Community Flea Market” and for Vendors selling their items too! No charge for your table! FMI: Contact: Debbie 845-701-3009 or debra.thony@gmail.com.

The Western Sullivan Public Library (Jeffersonville Branch) is hosting “OH I LOVE JAZZ, I JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND IT” Thursday, August 31st from 5p.m. - 6:30 p.m. featuring Thurman Barker. This lecture will dive into the world of jazz. Barker will discuss the four elements of music and what they mean, what distinguishes jazz from other types of music, and introduce some listening techniques. You will be able to hear live demonstrations throughout the lecture. Film and audio will also be available for viewing and listening. At the end there will be a chance for a Q and A. Please contact the library to register as space is limited. The audience is encouraged to attend a follow-up program on September 9th upstairs at the Jeffersonville Bake Shop at 2:00 p.m. This will be a live concert demonstration. Blending world-renowned style with refreshing individuality, Thurman Barker is a celebrated percussionist who built his career on innovation. As a professional musician, composer and college professor, he brings endless passion and decades of experience together to entertain, educate and expand the horizons of his art. 

Also, don’t forget the  Western Sullivan Public Library is having their Annual Firehouse Book Sale on August 10th, 11th and 12th at the Jeffersonville Firehouse, from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Gently used books starting at $0.25. Bag day is Saturday: $2.00 per bag. Please come out and support them and get some great reading material too!

“The Bard of the Hills” will be at the Jeffersonville Farmers’ Market (4906 State Route 52, Jeffersonville) this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. They play acoustic Irish and Folk songs and tunes and Sea Shanties. Also, Acoustic Octave Mandolin music.

Save the Date: Sunday, October 8th between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. the Diehl Homestead Farm Fall Festival is being held at 93 Diehl Road in Callicoon. A BBQ, games, prizes, and lots of fun for the whole family! FMI: DIEHLSMAPLESYRUP@YAHOO.COM. The Diehl Farm Market is open everyday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and have lots of peaches, melons, nectarines, corn and much more!
