The JYCS Class of 1973 recently celebrated its 50th year reunion over the Columbus Day weekend at the White Sulphur Springs Inn with a total group of 40+ students and spouses having a great night. A warm atmosphere, delicious food, comradery, with many stories being remembered and told. “Students” traveled in from Florida, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Oregon and Arizona. Many thanks to Liz and her staff for a wonderful evening. We plan on having our next Class reunion there in five years!

Plan on coming out to the JEMS Penny Social tomorrow at the Jeffersonville Firehouse.  Doors open at 11 a.m. with calling starting at 1 p.m. Lots of treasures to be found! Holiday decorations too! Proceeds of the event will go to improve and beautify the Village of Jeffersonville.  

The Kenoza Lake Fire Department is hosting their Annual Roast Beef Dinner tomorrow from 4-7 p.m. with Takeouts Only. Dinners are $17 with tickets at the door (downstairs this year) Please come out to support your volunteers! 

The Cornell Cooperative Extension/Sullivan County (located at 64 Ferndale-Loomis Rd, Liberty) announces 4-H Saturdays! Experience the 4-H Youth Development Program every 2nd Saturday. Youth between the ages of 5-18 are invited. Learn about cooking, healthy living, crafting, animal science, gardening, community service and more-Free! Registration is required in advance. Noted: Any Sullivan County youth ages 5-18 can enroll in 4-H for free. To register and FMI:

The Tavern on Main is holding a “Haunted Harvest Feast,” Friday, October 27th and Saturday, the 28th. There will be a Halloween Costume Contest, Spooky Cocktail (and Mocktail) Specials, and Halloween inspired Specials including a “Little Souls” Menu. Space is limited so book your table now. A “Halloween Costume Party” is being held at the White Sulphur Springs Inn on Saturday, October 28th from 6-9 p.m. Wear your spookiest Halloween costume! There will be games, prizes, food and drink Specials and a special guest- the talented BJ Hendrickson to play your favorite songs!

Volunteers are needed on October 31st to help with different “jobs” to make Halloween fun! Contact Colleen at the Village Office 845-482-4275 for more information. Also, if you can, please drop off candy for the kids! 

“Trunk or Treat” is happening on Halloween starting at 4 p.m. at the Hughson Park (across from the Dollar General, Jeffersonville). Wear your costume and come out and have fun!
