The Annual Heart-A-Thon is being held Friday, February 21st at the Catskill Regional Medical Center (downstairs in the cafeteria) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Anyone wanting to volunteer is more than welcome to join them. Hearts are $1 or $10 with 100% of the proceeds going to the Catskill Regional Medical Center's Cardiopulmonary Department. For more information, call 845-794-9898. Most of the stores in Jeffersonville are “selling” hearts!

Join the Jeffersonville Book Club at the Western Sullivan Public Library in Jeffersonville on Wednesday, February 12th at 4:30 p.m. This month's book: Educated: A Memoir by Tara Westover traces the author's experiences as a child born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, describing her participation in her family's paranoid stockpiling activities and her resolve to educate herself well enough to earn an acceptance into a prestigious university and the unfamiliar world beyond.

Take advantage of two Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County scholarship fund opportunities administered by the Community Foundation of Orange & Sullivan. These two funds exist to give out scholarships (ranging in amount from $500 - $4,000) to students from Sullivan County who are pursuing majors in agriculture-related fields.

The Skoda Family Scholarship Fund, is available for Sullivan County graduating seniors who plan to attend Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, PA. Preference is given to a student who plans to major in Agriculture. The Earle and Elizabeth Wilde Cornell Cooperative Extension of Sullivan County Scholarship Fund, is available for Sullivan County graduating seniors who plan to continue their education in an agriculture related field at either the State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill or Morrisville. Preference is given to a student whose family is actively engaged in agriculture.

Reminder: The AOH Sullivan Brothers are holding a fundraiser for the upcoming St Patrick's Day parade's expenses & for local charities on Saturday, February 22nd from 2-5 at Dutch's Tavern in Rock Hill. A bagpiper from “Mc Padden Pipes & Drums” will make an appearance and music will be provided by the “Windy Mule” band too.
