MONGAUP VALLEY – After a three-game winning streak, Fosterdale ran into the perennial powerhouse called L&B Tack for three straight games.

The first of the three game set went to L&B Tack on Tuesday night with a 22-7 victory, and after the conclusion of the Bat Girls Club come from behind victory over McDowall Electric, set to face them again.

Fosterdale jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but it would be their only lead of the night as L&B quickly answered with four runs in the home half of the inning.

Fosterdale went down quietly in the second inning and L&B added two more to make it 6-1 as the teams headed into the third inning.

Sheila Burns scored her second of three runs in the top of the third, one of two runs that Fosterdale was able to drive in before the inning ended.

L&B went up to the plate in the third inning and batted around, scoring nine runs in the frame and increasing their lead to 15-3.

A quiet fourth inning for Fosterdale opened the door for L&B to increase their lead, adding three runs and increasing the score to 15, getting ever closer to the mercy rule at the five inning mark.

Determined to extend the game, Fosterdale plated four runs in the fifth inning, cutting the lead to 11, 18-7.

L&B was ready to put the finishing touches on the game, and scored the four necessary runs to get a second straight 22-7 win over Fosterdale.

The two teams are scheduled to meet a third time on Monday to close out their three game series.

L&B improved their record to 14-2 while Fosterdale dropped to 5-7.
