Masonville man arrested for burglary

SULLIVAN COUNTY — The Town of Fallsburg Police arrested a 52-year-old Masonville man and charged him with Burglary in the second degree, a felony, and petit larceny. Arrested was Charles L. Smith II.

It is alleged that Mr. Smith went into a residence in the Town of Fallsburg and stole property during the beginning of August while operating a Town of Masonville Highway Department truck. Charles L. Smith II, who is the Highway Superintendent in the Town of Masonville in Delaware County, was located in the Town of Fallsburg on August 11 while again operating the Town of Masonville Highway Department truck.

Smith was arraigned in the Fallsburg Justice court in front of the Honorable Robert Scheinman, who remanded him to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail to reappear on August 24 at 5:30 p.m.
