MONTICELLO — Monticello has raced out to a great regular season, with their boys and girls both starting with 7-4 records. On Tuesday they hosted Livingston Manor/Roscoe, Fallsburg and Liberty. The Monticello boys defeated Fallsburg 20-41 and the Lady Panthers beat the Lady Comets 15-48

Monticello was all over the top-15 on Tuesday, with 10 of the spots being filled with Panthers. The Monticello girls had all five of the top spots and 10 of the top 11.

Eduardo Salinas of the Monticello boys took the top spot at just 13 minutes and 18 seconds, and Diya Patel compared in the next race with 16 minutes and 13 seconds, tallying the race into a decisive hometown win.

Runners are gearing up for the Section IX Cross Country Championship coming up on November 4 at Warwick’s Sanfordville Elementary School to vie for a chance to go to the State Championship.
