LOCH SHELDRAKE — The Monticello Panthers got their first win of the early season in a non-league matchup against Port Jervis. The two teams met at SUNY Sullivan to compete at the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse, and the Panthers put up an impressive 81 points to secure the win.
Daevion Sandoval led all scorers with 30 points, and sophomore Quenten Liciaga had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Judah Brown added 12 points as well as the Panthers earned their first win.

Boys Basketball
Fallsburg defeated Rondout Valley behind a strong offensive effort by Donovan Hart and Isaiah Young. The pair scored 17 and 16 respectively as the Comets took down the Ganders 52 to 45.
The Comets took a 26-25 lead into halftime, and the teams were still close after the end of the third. However, a strong fourth quarter effort by the Comets helped them extend the lead and take home the victory.
Wrestling
Liberty and Fallsburg/Tri-Valley competed in an early season wrestling match on Wednesday evening, with Liberty taking a 36 to 24 victory. Michael Kehlenbeck and Lorenzo Haffner netted two victories by fall for Fallsburg/Tri-Valley.
Elmer Son Vincente pinned Inmer Santos Morales earning a victory for Liberty. The rest of the points were won via forfeits for both sides, with Liberty earning four forfeits and Fallsburg grabbing two.
Girls Basketball
Livingston Manor defeated Fallsburg 31-26 on Tuesday evening. Anastasia Niforatos and Julia Meola paved the way for the Wildcats with nine and eight points respectively. Jennifer Pena Fuentes scored a game-high 15 for the Lady Comets.
