SULLIVAN COUNTY — On Saturday July 16 at about 7:00 pm, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision on State Route 17B at the intersection of Coopers Corners Rd. in the Town of Thompson. At the scene deputies found that a 2022 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Gabrielle Sileo, 22, of Monticello, was traveling westbound on 17B when it collided with a car. The car, which was a 2000 Volvo sedan, had entered 17B from Coopers Corners Rd., and was attempting to make a U-turn in the intersection to go back on that road. The driver of the Volvo was identified as Matthew Mueller, 31, of Queens NY. He was charged with DWI and making an illegal U-turn. Mueller was issued an appearance ticket and released. Gabrielle Sileo was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in stable condition. Monticello Fire Dept. and Mobile Medic responded to the scene.
