WEST POINT AND SUFFERN -- It's January and while the air is warm in the early part of this week, we all know it will be freezing again erelong. Regardless of the temperature outside, indoors it's rising steadily with the heated efforts of Sullivan County's runners, jumpers and throwers marshaling their efforts in an effort to peak for the coming Division, OCIAA and Sectional showdowns at West Point. Speaking of the doings at Gillis Field House at West Point, this week Monticello and Liberty were there on Friday night.

No local teams were at the Saturday meet but the results from Friday are below. Meanwhile, Sullivan West made its annual pilgrimage to Rockland County Community College for the Annual Suffern Invitational. You will find the results for that as well. It's interesting to keep up with the heavy-hitters to see the arc of their improvement from week to week.

We will continue to monitor those performances with greater intensity as the defining meets of the season unfold.
