Republicans need to vote Democratic

To the editor:

This is an urgent appeal to Republican voters.  You are often the most vocal in displaying national pride.  The upcoming election is a way to act on behalf of your patriotic zeal.  You are justified in your concerns over escalating price increases and I share your apprehensions.

Historically, however economic downsides have been cyclic, and eventually this inflationary period will slow down.  That’s just the way things work.

In recent decades the GOP has tumbled from its roots based on individual freedoms to something outright sinister. The most pronounced example to date was the eventual election of Donald Trump despite his total lack of governmental experience and overall disdain for democratic principles.  Months before the later 2020 presidential election Trump defyingly announced that the only way he could lose would be due to Democratic Party voter fraud.

Trump lost by more than six million popular votes and a comfortable majority of Biden electors, so he hatched various schemes, including attempts to certify fake state Electors to cast votes instead of the actual electors won by Joe Biden.

When that and other illegal plots failed, he allegedly incited an armed insurrection against the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to disrupt the official certification of the electoral process.  This was viewed in real time on TV by millions. We are all aware of the terrifying violence that took place on Jan. 6, 2021.

Since then Trump has switched tactics by backing supporters in varying states who will use their offices, should they win in November to make sure that regardless of the actual votes cast, Trump loyalist will get to manipulate future elections that would turn our nation into a fascist dictatorship.

In the meantime, if Trumpers capture either or both congressional houses, these new officeholders have made it clear about their intentions:  Women’s reproductive and privacy rights, already greatly weakened will be gone.

Social Security and Medicare – gone.  No more environmental protections.  No more separation of church and state.  No meaningful taxation of corporations and the wealthy.  No more civil rights enforcements.

Patriotic Republicans can assert their devotion to our national principals and institutions by doing one thing – vote against almost all GOP candidates.

The Democrats have recently passed significant legislation almost entirely without Republican input or votes, that once in effect will greatly enhance the lives for all of us.

Much is up to you, Republicans to help preserve our democracy and the nation it serves.

Vote for Democrats this November!

Marshall, you are out of your mind. Stop you're crying already, isn't 6+ years enough yet?

Who has destroyed our country, lets see, who is in charge? That would be the Democrats who don't need any R votes! Who is selling our oil reserves without replenishment and what's up with the diesel? How do yo run out of the fuel that moves America? Nationally Biden and his people have destroyed this country, In NY Cuomo, Holchul and dems have mad us unsafe, broke and a ghost-town looming.

Church and state - who is the one that puts down religion when another brings it up? That would be you, remember Pasquale?

TIME to VOTE CONSERVATIVE! Dump the democrats in office now, they are unfit!

Do we want to be hung with a new or old rope? A party led by someone who attempted to overthrow THE CONSTITUTION or a party that cranks up the printing presses? Our political system cannot continue to be run by polar opposite paradigms. I can't believe what is happening to our country.
