SULLIVAN COUNTY — Golf, baseball, softball and track and field student athletes are kicking off spring sports practices this week. Many of the varsity teams across the county started practicing yesterday, and despite the weekend snow and chilly temperatures, hopefully before long it will warm up and dry up the courses and fields.

The first week of games is set for the week of March 25, with many teams opening with scrimmages and non-league games before the beginning of April.

Spring sports also mark the final high school season for the 2023-24 school year, and what a year it has been thus far with various teams reaching sectionals and even a few Section IX Champiosnhips for county schools.
