WEST POINT — Thanks to some inclement weather earlier in January, Tri-Valley and Eldred’s indoor track teams headed to West Point on February 23 to compete for the Division 6 championship.

The Tri-Valley boys team handily defeated their opponents (Burke, Pine Plains and Eldred), while the Tri-Valley girls were tightly contested by Burke until the finale.

Monticello was scratched from the Division 2 Championship, but were scheduled to attend prior to the rescheduling of the event.

There were PRs and close finishes throughout the night at the Gillis Field House as many athletes were competing for the final time of the winter season.

When the other half of the divisionals took place on January 20, the Fallsburg girls took home the D5 win. They led all teams with 124 points, and the Sullivan West girls finished third with 94.

The Liberty girls finished fourth in Division 3 with 35 points.

On the boys’ side, Sullivan West (103) finished in third place in Division 5, with Fallsburg (82) finishing fourth.

The Liberty boys finished in sixth place with 10 points in Division 3.
