Tri-Valley hosts six team pre-season 8-man scrimmage

GRAHAMSVILLE — With the summer season beginning to wind down, we are one step closer to the introduction of the 2023-24 football season.

After weeks of practice and preparation, five teams traveled to the Iatoro Sports Complex to scrimmage with the Tri-Valley Bears. Teams in attendance included: Eldred, Fallsburg, Onteora, Pawling and Pine Plains.

The first period was a 10-minute offense vs defense, using both halves of the field to maximize reps. Coaches were able to stand on the field and see their plays unfold in real-time to offer more guidance to their offenses.

After each team finished two cycles of offense, defense and water, the scrimmage moved to Period 2: The Two Minute Drill. Each team started at the 30-yard line and attempted to score within two minutes and two timeouts.

The afternoon offered great insights for each of the teams as they entered their final week of practices before Week 1 starts tonight.

Fallsburg hosts Ellenville tonight at Morningside Park at 6:30 p.m.

Tri-Valley will be in Pine Plains at 7 p.m.

Eldred is set to host Millbrook/Webutuck at 7 p.m. tonight.
