WMH Medical Staff Donates to Cottage Hose Ambulance Corps

Posted

HONESDALE, PA - The Wayne Memorial Hospital Medical Staff donated $1,000 to Cottage Hose Ambulance at the hospital in Honesdale on Thursday, July 21, in appreciation of the ambulance corp’s Advanced and Basic Life Support services, as well as paratransit van services. Hospital officials said the Carbondale-based ambulance corps handles the majority of transports leaving its facility to Wayne, Lackawanna and Susquehanna counties. Cottage also works in supporting Wayne Memorial’s trauma, stroke and cardiac catheterization survey processes and when there is a need to move some of those critical patients to a higher level of care.
“They are always there for us when needed,” said Medical Staff President Sandra Cosklo, DO, “and we really count on them a lot.”
Cosklo, a hospitalist physician, and pulmonologist Sean McVeigh, MD, FCCP, FACP, chief of the WMH Medical Staff presented the funds to Cottage Hose Operations Manager Stephen Fish, EMT-P11/FF.
“I am grateful for the working relationships we have and how well we work together,” said Fish. “This donation will certainly help with the many expenses we have to keep us and our equipment in service. We really appreciate it.”
Wayne Memorial Hospital is a Certified Primary Stroke Center and a Level IV Trauma Center. In 2016 it opened a cardiac catheterization laboratory, the Heart & Vascular Center.
