Around half a dozen shops in Woodbourne's business district have been vandalized over the past week, with windows and glass doors shattered and riddled with what look like BB pellet holes but police believe to be caused by rocks. Fallsburg Police are following up “some good leads,” said Town Supervisor Steve Vegliante, who hopes the damage is not spurred by anti-Semitism. Closed this time of year, the businesses are Jewish-owned and cater to a significant influx of observant Jewish visitors and vacationers in the warmer months. A source close to the investigation said two under-18 boys were arrested and will be charged with the vandalism today.
