FALLSBURG — Amanda Stevens took over the Athletic Director duties mid-year in the 2022-23 school year after more than a decade of teaching.

There are a lot of exciting things going on at Fallsburg, including a new JV football team. With the reclassification, Fallsburg managed to stay in Class C for Varsity Football, landing right under the limit of moving up to B.

“The reclassification hasn’t affected us for the 2023-24 school year, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens next year,” Stevens said. “We’ll have to deal with changes as they come.”

Fallsburg is also in the process of updating their Cross Country trail due to some construction work on the campus.

During the summer off-season, Fallsburg student-athletes attended the SUNY Sullivan Youth Basketball Camp and took part in the Monticello Summer League as well.

With the Fall 2023 season quickly approaching, student-athletes have already returned to practice, and the Varsity Football team will be in Tri-Valley tomorrow morning for their first scrimmage of the year.

“Weather is usually pretty mild in the Fall, and it’s nice to be outside,” Stevens said. “After just two seasons I’ve learned that it’s easier to count the seasons rather than the years, because each season is so unique.”
