Amy Ilene Brasington Brudermann, a compliance monitor for the Sullivan County Division of Family Services, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 8, 2023 at her home in Harris. She was 45.

The daughter of Arden “Lod” Brasington and Dona Drobysh Brasington, she was born July 27, 1978 in Harris.

Amy was beautiful, kind, and a loving free spirit who touched many lives in her short 45 years. Family was most important to her. She loved the holidays and any chance to be with all of us. She loved skiing and competing on the MHS ski team. Later, her passion was softball and continued right until this year. Most of all, she loved kayaking whenever she could, always wanting a little more rain so the Neversink River would be running high and fast. She would stop along the river route to see her “Baldy”, an eagle she was sure was waiting for her. She was right every time! Her co-workers at DSS will miss her rainbows and unicorns. She made lots of friends all over the County and beyond, sharing her peace, love and happiness.

She is survived by her husband: John G. Brudermann; her parents: Lod & Dona Brasington; a son: Tyler Brudermann (Courtney); a daughter: Taylor Brudermann (Eddy); her siblings: Alice Stanley (Kevin), Ken Whipple (Debra), Judy Edmondson (Ken), and Kate Morgan (Rich); an expected grandchild; niece, nephews, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many, many friends. She was predeceased by a nephew, Jonathan Whipple.

Memorial visitation was held on Wednesday, December 13 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello, with a memorial service held at 1:00pm. Interment of her ashes followed at the Messenger Cemetery in Southwoods, Monticello.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Delaware Valley Raptor Center www.dvrconline.org.
