MONTICELLO – Bat Girls Club outlasted Charlie’s Angels/Fosterdale in a back-and-forth women’s league softball showdown. On a beautiful evening with clear skies, Bat girls pulled away late for an 18-12 victory. Bat Girls Club held a 1-0 lead when coverage began and quickly extended it in the second inning when a big two-out hit drove in three runs to make it 4-0. They added another run in the third to build a 5-0 advantage before Charlie’s Angels mounted an impressive response.

Charlie’s Angels exploded offensively in the bottom of the third inning, off a double and a string of timely hits to erase the five-run deficit and tie the game at 5-5. Bat Girls Club answered with five runs in the fourth, highlighted by a bases-clearing double, but Charlie’s Angels once again fought back. A strong fourth inning trimmed the deficit to 10-9, and in the fifth they strung together several hits to score three runs and take their first lead of the night at 12-11.

With momentum slipping away, Bat Girls Club responded in the sixth. After two quick outs, they delivered a game-tying hit and followed it with an RBI double to regain the lead at 13-12. Their defense then came through with three quick outs in the bottom half to carry the one-run advantage into the final inning.

Bat Girls Club put the game away in the seventh, scoring five runs on a series of clutch hits, including a two-run double that capped the rally and stretched the lead to 18-12. Charlie’s Angels were unable to answer in the bottom of the inning as Bat Girls Club retired the side to secure the victory for a highly entertaining early season game.
