Pueblo West, CO – Callicoon native Annabelle Rosenberger Holblinger will be turning 114 years old on March 16.

That’s an incredible age and this huge milestone is getting her closer to becoming the oldest person in America.

One year ago, just after her birthday in 2022, Annabelle ranked as the 9th oldest person in the United States.

Today, she ranks as the fourth oldest, just one year and 39 days younger than the oldest person.

Annabelle is 113 years, 302 days old while the oldest person, Edie Ceccarelli, of California, is 114 years, 341 days.

There are two ladies between them – Hazel Plummer of Massachusetts at 114, 207 days and Nina Willis of Georgia at 113, 364 days. 

And the trend for longevity appears to have one thing in common – being a female.

Of the 31 oldest people in America only one male – Francis Zouein of California –makes the list at number 15. He is 112 years, 11 days, having been born on January 1, 1911.

Annabelle was born on March 16, 1909 to George (Charlie) and Wilhelmina Rosenberger of Callicoon.

The couple had seven children who were all born between 1896 - 1911.

They are all deceased except for Annabelle and their names and ages are:

• Barbara Ryan - 95

• Olive Donohue - 95

• George Rosenberger - 71

• William Rosenberger - 89

• Leo Rosenberger - 91

• Mae Kratz - 104

Annabelle also had a cousin, Marie Zeletsky of Callicoon, who lived to 110 and volunteered at Grover Hermann Hospital well into her 100s.

Annabelle presently lives with her daughter Anne in Pueblo West, CO and has another daughter, Jean Peterman, who lives in East Hampton, CT.
