Charles A. Simmons of Polkton, NC (formerly of Livingston Manor, NY) passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Anson Health & Rehabilitation in Wadesboro, NC. Born in Lew Beach, NY to the late Albert & Bessie Simmons. He was 94.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years, Doris Simmons (Cotton), daughters Kathleen Welch and Laura Lotz, sons Richard Simmons (Marion), Terry Simmons (Kathy), Tim Simmons, and very close dear friend Walter Lotz. Survivors also include 10 grandkids, 17 great-grandkids, 4 great-great-grandkids and many other family members.

Charlie proudly served in WW2, Army and the Air Force. He was a charter member of Lew Beach Fire Dept. and also served as a Constable for Town of Rockland many years ago. His true passion was logging and running bulldozer. This is what he had done most of his life and that’s where he was happiest. He also had a passion for bowling years ago and tinkering on cars in his spare time. Anyone that knew Charlie, knew that he loved picking on people and making jokes. He always had some fun stories to tell from years ago that would make everyone laugh. He will truly be missed.

A Military Service in his honor will be held on July 3rd 2021 in North Carolina.

Arrangements are under the care of Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro, NC. For further information call (704) 694-2524 or visit www.leavittfh.com.
