Local print and radio are not free. They both cost time, energy and money to put the ink on the page and the songs on the sound waves. One of our partnered news media outlet, WJFF Radio Catskill 90.5 FM, recently ran and completed their annual summer fund drive to assist in allowing their work to continue.

To those who donated, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It is a great pleasure in the local media community to see those who utilize the entertainment and news services provided, and give back to them in return. It is by your donations that our friends at WJFF can keep providing the tunes and the news.

Even though their official drive has come to a close, the power in a simple tip is that of an ever-green and is a great gift that never goes without appreciation, no matter the season. This also assists the Democrat in many ways, due to our partnership.

Reporters and editors from the paper have been able to share news, insight and opinion on the airwaves in conjunction with WJFF over the years. This includes weekly news briefs, the monthly reporter’s roundtable and much more. It is a privilege to have such a renowned and reliable bond between the various news outlets that come together under the WJFF banner.

Our reporters also share a great bond with our fellow Thunderheads on Thunder 102 with Paul Ciliberto. Early on Friday mornings, the news is brought directly from our front page to your car ride to work. This partnership is made possible through the dual commitment to giving Thunderheads and readers of the Democrat a better chance at being in the know, wherever you go.

The ability to share our work on these different mediums is a pleasure, and we ask as a collective that you continue your vast and appreciated support of our work.

Through these connections, your local voice is only made stronger and more audible throughout the entire region. We want to keep giving you that voice. Thank you to those who donated and those who are still considering.
