Gerald C. Minckler, Sr. of Long Eddy, NY, a retired laborer for Local #17, Newburgh, NY and a lifelong area resident, died Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at his home. He was 81.

The son of the late Sanford and Erma Williams Minckler, he was born October 14, 1939 in Stalker, PA.

Gerald was a former Commissioner for the Long Eddy Fire District and former member of the Long Eddy Fire Department; a former Town of Fremont Democratic Committeeman. He proudly served Our Country in the US Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his son, Gerald C. Minckler, Jr. and his wife Connie of Long Eddy, NY; four daughters, Darlene Kurtz and her husband John of Cochecton, NY, Diane Carpenter of Owego, NY, Deborah Arnold and her husband Alan of Long Eddy, NY and Denise Smestad and her husband Erik of Long Eddy, NY; one brother, David Minckler of Florida; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be private.
