June Somers, a loving and devoted wife, mother, and Mema, passed away peacefully Friday, September 15, 2023 at her home in Forestburgh. She was 76.

The daughter of the late Edwin and Mildred (Starr) Price, she was born June 19, 1947 in Monticello. She married Robert Somers at the United Methodist Church in Monticello on October 23, 1965.

In addition to her loving husband of 57 years, Robert Somers, at home, she is survived by her son, Glenn Somers (Jennifer); her daughter Dawn Randall (Jay); her grandchildren Adam Randall (Katelyn), Kaitlin Randall (Justin Smith), Carson Somers, and Adisyn Somers. June is also survived by her brother, Ed Price (Gale), sisters-in-law Marilyn Bastone (Dennis) and Carol Panchysyn; brother-in-law Russell Somers (Jill) as well as several nieces and nephews; and many close friends. In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Baird.

June deeply loved her family and friends as well as her beloved little dogs. Her grandchildren held the most special places in her heart. June was a true people person, could carry a conversation with anyone, and made fast friends wherever she went. She had a wonderful sense of humor and brought love and laughter to all who knew her. June found great joy in the ocean, sunflowers, the moon, and the stars. These will forever be reminders of her, and June will be deeply missed by loved ones near and far.

June’s family would like to extend their most sincere appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Dinsmore, Brandi, Jessica, Robin, and Christine of Hospice of Orange and Sullivan for their care, compassion and support.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, September 24th, 2023 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello with services immediately following at 12:00pm. Interment of her ashes will follow at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
