Hard to believe we are in the middle of October with Halloween just around the corner. It is just about time to put the garden to bed for the Winter and plan for next year! We hope everyone participated in some of the Homecoming festivities last week too!

There are numerous events happening in and around town, mark your calendars for the following events.

Lakeview Pizza & Bar in Lake Huntington, NY, will be hosting their Halloween Costume Bash on Saturday, October 28 starting at 8:00 pm. There will be music, food, keg beer, and fun. $25.00 cover charge (includes food and keg beer). For more info contact Chris or Christiane at (845) 932-8131.

Art Nest is excited to invite artists to participate in our 2023 Catskill Artisans Show, a celebration of high craft and creativity during the festive season. We are seeking talented artisans working in 2D and 3D mediums to showcase their work. This show is dedicated to high craft items that are not only impeccably designed but also priced to sell.

- Show Theme: Catskill Artisans

- Art Categories: 2D and 3D Artwork

- Focus: High Craft Items, Priced to Sell

- Exhibition Duration: Throughout the Holiday Season

Important Dates:

- Notification of Selection: November 3rd

- Artwork Drop-off: December 6th

- Opening Reception: November 18th

- Exhibition Ends: January 2024

Submission Guidelines:

- Artists are invited to submit up to **6 pieces** for consideration.

- All submitted artwork must align with the Artisan, Fine Art, & Folk Art (see below)

- Pieces should be high quality, finely crafted, and priced to sell.

- 2D artwork must be ready to hang; 3D artwork must be stable for display on tables.

How to Apply:

- Deadline for Submissions: November 1st

- Submission Fee: FREE

- Submission Requirements: Please send a brief artist bio, high-resolution images of your artwork, prices.

Be sure to mark your calendars that there will be a Penny Social at the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church on October 21. Doors open at 11:30 and calling at 12:30. Hot dogs, sauerkraut, beverages and potato chips will be available for purchase. Cake and coffee served after the calling. Sponsored by the Lake Huntington Ladies Aid Society.
