Ruth Lasky lived a long and full life. Ruth was born in Brooklyn on December 17, 1925 to Ida and Charles Eckstein. After elementary and high school Ruth attended NYU where she majored in journalism and was editor of the university’s newspaper. Ruth then went on to receive her Masters in Education from Hofstra University.

Besides being a devoted mother, Mrs. Lasky was always an active synagogue member, but she is best known by others for being a beloved teacher. She taught 2nd and 3rd grade in the Monticello schools.

Upon retirement Mrs. Lasky spent part of the year in West Palm Beach, returning each summer to Monticello to be near family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Larry; her daughter, Gerri (husband-Yitschok Rudomin); her son-in-law, Len Tischler; and her grandchildren: Lauren, Michael, Dovid, Rochel, Miriam, Yehoshuah and Nechama; as well as many great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, all dear to her heart.
