LIBERTY — Liberty hosted Port Jervis in a Class A showdown on Wednesday afternoon, and after a pre-game senior recognition, the RedHawks got to work. The student-athletes from both sides gave it their all, but it was Liberty that came away with a 6-1 division win.

Aldo Garcia set the tone early, scoring the first goal of the game. His teammates took the cue and followed up with five additional goals, adding more momentum with each.

The win was Liberty’s second of the season in Class A, and their third overall in the young season.

The Raiders gave it their best effort, with Miguel Segovia scoring the lone goal for Port Jervis. Port Jervis Will Curreri recorded eight saves in the loss as Port Jervis moves to 1-7-1 (0-3) on the season.

After Garcia scored the opening goal, Riley Totten (2), Jackson Bustillo (2) and Brayan Hernandez also scored for the RedHawks. Totten, Hernandez and Cristofer Deras recorded assists in the win and David Philips and Kevin Cando each recorded a save.
